Irving Street Lofts was originally used as a pharmaceutical warehouse and then became the first building to sell residential space. This space was exclusively used by artists as a space to live and a space to create their art. Most units have an exposed concrete column 12 ft. ceilings. The windows are oversized and allow a great amount of light to penetrate each unit. Many artists still call Irving Street Lofts their home for this reason alone. The roof top terrace is by far the largest of any residential building in Portland.
